Journée d’étude/Master 2 Study Day
This study day scheduled every year in December allows each student enrolled in the Master 2 program to present his or her research in front of their colleagues, supervisors and professors of the English Department. Each student delivers a conference-style paper that presents the goals, methodology, corpus, arguments they use and develop, as well as the questions and challenges they have faced in their research. For the conference, students prepare an abstract in English, which they write in the Writing Skills seminar. The Oral Skills seminar allows them to practice oral presentations as a preparatory stage. Their oral presentation – 15 to 20 minutes followed by two or three questions from the audience – is assessed for the validation of the UE. Each year, several students are selected to give papers at the EUCOR conference that takes place every April in a different university of the EUCOR network.
The oral presentation – 15 to 20 minutes followed by two or three questions from the audience – is assessed for the validation of the UE.
