The topics of this course include topics from algebra such as Eucledian division, extended Eucledian algorithm, greatest common divisor, BÉZOUT’s identity, congruences, Chinese remainder theorem, public key cryptosystems; topics from probability and statistics such as probability theory, counting rules, random variables, discrete and continuous random variables and their distributions, descriptive statistics, linear regression, sampling distribution, confidence intervals for the mean.

This course is structured to teach students basic concepts in algebra and probability and statistics. The goals are: -To introduce students to basic concepts in algebra -To introduce students to core concepts in probability and statistics.
