In this course, we will aim at:
*Acquainting you with a major work of American literature: Francis Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby (1925).
*Developing your skills in close reading (thanks to a methodology) in order for you to convey your ideas in clear, well-constructed, and convincing arguments.
Students need to purchase the book and bring it in class for every session : The Great Gatsby, F.S. Fitzgerald ( recommended edition: Wordsworth Classics ). The book can be found at the Libraire Gallimard du Monde Entier, place Kléber.
