Description du contenu de l'enseignement

The aim of the course is to get students familiar with the main corporate strategy issues. Therefore, we define corporate strategy topics and distinguish it from other strategies, like business strategy. While business-level strategy concerns the ways in which a single business unit can compete in a given market space, for instance through cost leadership or differentiation, corporate strategy is about the overall scope and thus concerns the entire organization. Following topics will be the center of the course: (1) Determination of the scope of the organization (2) analysis of the diversification and internationalization as strategy options (3) analysis of organic development, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic alliances as strategy methods (4) differentiation of the main organizational structures, and their strengths and weaknesses.
